Ed has been training at the studio for just under a year and his main goals were to improve his strength, increase muscular hypertrophy, and strengthen his core.
Ed’s sessions have include both compound movements with low reps to improve strength and accessory exercises to aid hypertrophy. His main athletic interest is running so lots of hip mobility and hamstring/hip flexor stretching have been incorporated to increase range of motion and overall technique. It’s important to focus on mobility when weight training as if you have more range of motion at a joint you can take a muscle through its full range and therefore, stimulate more muscle fibres.
Ed’s achievements:
Flat Barbell Bench Press: Was 35kg ➡️ Now 62.5kg
Hex Bar Deadlift: Was 40kg ➡️ Now: 105kg
Barbell Back Squat: Was 30kg ➡️ Now: 70kg
