  • How often should I have PT sessions?
    This really depends on how fast you want to see results, your personal schedule and how familiar you already are with exercise and fitness. Castle Fitness recommends 2 weekly PT sessions with us accompanied by 1 or 2 independent weekly sessions has provided our clients with optimal results. However, if you're new to exercise you may find it beneficial to train with one of our trainers on a more frequent basis.
  • Where will the sessions take place?
    Castle Fitness is based at our studio in Winchester and the majority of our sessions take place here. However, we also offer outdoor bootcamp training sessions which take place in a number of locations around Winchester.
  • How much does it cost?
    At Castle Fitness our trainers have their own rates. Therefore, the cost depends on who you are training with. All of our packages are designed so that the more sessions you book, the more you save. If your goals are better health, improved confidence and greater strength then it will certainly be money well spent, even if you already know your way around a gym!
  • Where and when does group training take place?
    Our group training sessions take place at our studio in Winchester a few times a week. We have sessions on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening between 6 and 8pm
  • How much does group training cost?
    The group training session is £10 per session.
  • What can I expect in group training?
    Group training involved combining resistance training with bodyweight cardio moves to achieve a full body workout.
  • What is a bootcamp workout?
    If you're looking for a total body workout that will challenge your fitness, this is the class for you. This class consists of timed periods that involve a combination of bodyweight and free weight exercises that will help boost your strength and endurance. This is a high intensity class that will be sure to get your heart rate up and improve your fitness levels.
  • What does a bootcamp class consist of?
    Bootcamp is an interval training workout with bursts of intense activity and rests of lighter activity. You can expect cardio, light weights, bodyweight exercises, such as squats, push-ups, lunges, and crunches, as well as drills and sprints.
  • Are bootcamp workouts effective?
    Bootcamp is a heart raising, interval training workout helping you to lose weight and build muscle.
  • How much does bootcamp cost?
    Bootcamp costs £5 per session.
  • When and where are bootcamps held?
    During the summer months of the year bootcamps are held in the playingfield behind the Castle Fitness Studio. They are held in the evenings usually on a Wednesday.
  • Is bootcamp good for weight loss?
    Bootcamp can help to quick start your weight loss and overall fitness, but it's an intense workout. Bootcamp works your entire body, including your core. It's not for you if you don't like sweat.
  • How many calories do you burn in a bootcamp class?
    The calories you burn depends on many factors such as your height, weight, and body composition. Bootcamp is more intense than most cardio activities. You can expect to burn between 500 to 600 calories during a one-hour session.
  • Will it be painful?
    Everyone’s a little bit different and the 'pain threshold' differs from person to person. That’s why at Castle Fitness we will consistently ask you if the pressure during a massage is ok for you. Some of the techniques wel use are intentionally injurious, because they need to be in order to be effective. However, the outcome will be reduced pain, greater range of motion and improved recovery time.
  • Where will the massage take place?
    Castle Fitness is based in Winchester and the majority of my massage appointments take will place here. However, we are also happy to travel to your home if you would prefer.
  • Can I benefit even if I'm not an athlete?
    While sports massage is extremely effectively when accompanying an intense training programme, you definitely do not need to be a top athlete to benefit. If you're relatively active, or even if you don't do any form of exercise at all, our everyday movements or sitting at a desk all day still puts stress on our body. Regular sports massage will help to ease the strain, reducing the risk of serious problems developing.
  • What is online fitness coaching?
    Online Personal Training is a proven fitness coaching service that will help you achieve your goals and transform your body in a sustainable way. One of our trainers at Castle Fitness will construct an exercise programme tailored for you and your goals. This can be viewed and edited whilst you train using the Microsoft Excel smartphone app. Upon purchasing an online coaching plan you will receive a confirmation and a fitness & health questionnaire, which we will consult when designing your plan. Online coaching can be done anywhere. You don't need to meet us face to face.
  • How effective is online coaching?
    Online Personal Training has proven to be extremely effective, it will give you access to our expertise, knowledge and experience at any time. It’s great for providing you with extra motivation, accountability and teaching you to take control and track your own progress. It’s also much more cost effective than face to face personal training and the workouts can be fitted in at anytime throughout the week rather than booking in a session with one of our trainers.
  • Will I need to be a member of a gym?
    You will need to be a member of a gym, yes. Some exercises can be done at home with or without equipment, but the programmes are based on a mixture of these and weight training.
  • Can you provide me with meal plans?
    Yes! At Castle Fitness most of our trainers have qualifications in nutrition. For example, Brad is Level 5 Qualified in Nutrition meaning he can offer meal plans to accompany your training programme.
  • As there is no face-to-face contact, how will I know how to do the exercises in my plan?"
    Each exercise in your plan will be accompanied by a video demo as well as a step-by-step written explanation. This will ensure that you feel confident and comfortable in the gym while performing new movements. If you have any questions about online training please enquire through our enquiry form.
  • How will I communicate with you?
    Your trainer at Castle Fitness will be available via WhatsApp, Instagram and email to answer any questions you may have. This is to ensure you have the support and encouragement you need to feel confident following the programme.
  • How long will it take for me to see results?
    Everyone reacts differently to training, most people should notice changes after the first month. The results you achieve depend on how closely you follow the programme, your body type and your training history.
  • What if I have a specific medical condition?
    At Castle Fitness we always put our clients needs first. If you have a medical condition we will make sure your training programme is safe and managable for you to follow. We are experienced in tailoring workouts to suit a range of needs and capabilities however, please get in contact with us if you have any questions so we can fully discuss how to accommodate your needs.
